About Us

Welcome to Kingston Technical High School

Established in 1896, Kingston Technical High was the first technical school in Jamaica, and as such, introduced curricula that represented alternative educational directions to the traditional academic programs of study in the high schools.

Principal’s Message

Thank you for visiting our web site! Kingston Technical High School (KTHS) is Jamaica’s oldest vocational and technical high school. KTHS was also the genesis of CAST (The College of Arts, Science and Technology) which is now UTech (The University of Technology), and the model for other technical high schools across Jamaica. I am honoured to be serving as principal and strive to uphold the highest standards of “Training and Character Building” established by my predecessors starting with our first principal, Mr. John G. Peet in 1896.

We hope that you will find the information and photographs not only intriguing but useful in your search to learn more about our pioneering school. I now invite you to click here to read my most recent newsletter.

With best wishes,

Maulton Campbell
